Alyssa Milano was born on 19 December 1972 in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. She is the daughter of Thomas M. Milano, a film music editor, and Lin, a former fashion designer and talent manager. She is the elder sister of Cory, an actor and lead singer of the band ‘Chloroform Days’, started by him. She grew up in Staten Island. She won a part by appearing in the open audition on a national tour of Annie, when she was just eight years old.
She then started appearing in Off-Broadway productions and in some commercials. When she turned eleven, she got a major role in ‘Who’s The Boss’ TV Show. She moved along with her family to Hollywood in order to act in ‘Who’s The Boss’. She also appeared in the film ‘Commando‘ in 1995. She produced “Teen Steam“, a teen workout video in 1988.
Though she suffers from dyslexia, she built up a great career in acting. She likes to engrave tattoos on her body and at present, she has eight tattoos on her body. Being a vegetarian, she advertised for PETA’s campaign for vegetarianism. She donated $250,000 for Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases, for which, she is also a founding Ambassador.
She is also a goodwill ambassador of UNICEF in US. She worked with field officers of UNICEF, in India and in Angola. She sold her own and a school’s photo work, and raised an amount of $50,000 for South African women and children suffering from AIDS.
She is quite interested in sports, and she has launched her own line of clothing for the female baseball fans. She has dated many athletes including, Brad Penny, Carl Pavano, Barry Zito and Russell Martin. She is now the fiancée of David Bugliari, who is an agent of CAA. Earlier she was married to Cinjun Tate, a singer/songwriter; they were married and divorced in the same year in 1999.
She has acted in many films like, ‘Pathology‘, ‘The Blue Hour’, ‘Kiss the Bride’, ‘Hugo Pool’, ‘Fear‘, ‘Double Dragon’, ‘Little Sister‘, etc. She also appeared in some TV-movies such as ‘The Canterville Ghost’, ‘The Webbers’, ‘Causalities of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story’, ‘Confessions of a Sorority Girl’, ‘To Brave Alaska’ and ‘Diamond Hunters’. She won the Young Artist Award in 1986 for Best Young Supporting Actress in a Television Series for ‘Who’s The Boss‘; she won it in 1987 for Exceptional Performance by a Young Actress, Starring in a Television, Comedy or Drama Series for ‘Who’s the Boss’; and in 1988 for the Best Young Female Superstar in Television for ‘Who’s the Boss’. She earned nominations for several other awards in vivid categories and won many of them.
