Shannen Doherty was born on 12 April 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A. She is the daughter of Tom Doherty, a mortgage consultant, and Rosa, owner of beauty parlor. She is of an Irish Catholic lineage but she followed her mother’s Southern Baptist religion. Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was seven years old. She married twice but the marriages did not succeed, she also remained engaged with actor Jude Nelson for a short period. She was married to Ashley Hamilton and then with Rick Solomon. She made a nude appearance for Playboy magazine many a times. In 2001, she faced drunken driving charges and was sentenced either to 10 days imprisonment or 20 days work-release duty, three years probation and a fine of $1500.

She appeared in guest roles for ‘Voyagers!‘, ‘Father Murphy’ and ‘Airwolf‘ when she was just ten years old. She went on to act in a regular role for ‘Little House On The Prairie’. In her teens, she appeared in a family drama, ‘Our House’ and in a motion picture ‘Heathers‘. ‘Heathers‘ was enlisted in the ‘50 Best High School Movies‘ by Entertainment Weekly.
